Kosciuszko Challenge 2015
Day Zero
Here we are in Canberra ready for this years challenge. Day Zero and getting ready for the big ride tomorrow. Riding from Canberra, 1000kms over Mt Kosciuszko. The flight from Brisbane to Canberra, arrived mid morning. The advance crew were at the airport to drive our cyclists and ground crew to their the accommodation in Queanbeyan. With half a day up our sleeve Day Zero became a bonus ride day. We are here in the capital of Australia, we would be remise not to see the sights. So the bonus ride was a 46km circuit of Canberra. A good time to iron out the kinks and getting used to riding in the individual teams. A short ride, however, plenty happened. Two punctures, one mishap, rain and hail. First stop was Parliament House. Both teams met up for photos. Next a circuit of Lake Burley Griffith and a ride up Anzac Avenue.
We are looking forward for some cold days ahead. Canberra is cold for us warm blooded Queenslanders, over the next few days The Snowy Mountains will be colder. Snow has been forecasted. Challenging Events, Changing Lives
